Latin.png Latin text

Germinavit radix Jesse,
orta est stella ex Jacob.
Virgo peperit Salvatorem;
te laudamus, Deus noster. Alleluia.

Nato Domino, angelorum chori
canebant dicentes: “Salus Deo nostro
sedenti super thronum et Agno.” Alleluia.

English.png English translation

A shoot has sprouted from the root of Jesse,
a star has arisen from Jacob.
The Virgin has borne the Saviour;
we praise you, our God. Alleluia.

To the newborn Lord, the choir of angels
sang, saying: “Salvation to our God
who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb.” Alleluia.
