Italian text O compagni allegrezza, noi siam gionti in Cucagna ove chi più lavora men guadagna. Questo è quel loco ameno: fonte d'ogni piacer, mar d'ogni gioia, d'ogni delizia pieno: Qui senza alcuna noia di gelosia né di rival sospetto. L'amate e gli amadori, godon de lor amori. Or pronte e lieto ognun di noi si mostri, su cacciam mano a gli stromenti nostri, e per dar lor diletto e soniam e cantiam qualche balletti.

English translation O cheerful company, we've arrived in Cockaigne where the more you work the less you earn. This is that pleasant place: the font of every pleasure, the sea of all joy, a bounty of every delight: here absent any nuisance, not of jealous nor of its rival, distrust. Lovers and beloved savor their loves. Now let each of us show ourselves willing and happy, now let us take our instruments in hand, and to give them delight, let us both play and sing some balletti.
