Latin text Invenerunt me custodes civitatis. Paululum cum pertransirem eos, inveni quem diligit animam meam. Tenui nec dimittam illum. Egredimini, filiae Hierusalem, et congratulamini mihi, Cantate dilecto meo cum laetitia, cum jubilo, cum cythara.

English translation The city watchmen found me. Scarcely had I passed by them, when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him and let him go. Go forth, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, and rejoice with me, Sing with joy for my beloved, with jubilation, with the cythara. Translation by James Gibb
