General Information
Title: Mercy and truth are met together
Composer: Arthur Sullivan
Source of text: Psalm 85 vv. 10,11a,13 (Book of Common Prayer)
Number of voices: 4vv Voicing: SATB
Genre: Sacred, Anthem
Language: English
Instruments: A cappella
First published: 1874 Novello
Description: Arrangement of Cherubic Hymn by Dmitri Bortniansky. This is largely an SATB anthem, with an SSA interlude from bars 43-49, and basses in octaves from bar 59 to the end. Since the keyboard part is merely a reduction of the voice parts, it could be sung a cappella, although it is likely that Sullivan intended an organ accompaniment.

English text
Mercy and truth are met together: righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Truth shall flourish out of the earth:
Righteousness shall go before Him: and He shall direct his going in the way.
Alleluia!
Amen
