General information
Title: Motetz nouvellement composez
Editor - Compiler: Pierre Attaingnant
Publication date and place: 1529 in Paris by Pierre Attaingnant.
Description: Attaingnant's first collection of motets for four to six voices, published as four partbooks. No publication date appears in this book, but scholarship has determined that early 1529 is likely. This date was suggested by Daniel Heartz (1969) and appears in subsequent sources, such as RISM and the Bibliothèque nationale de France catalogue. It is perhaps confusing that it was originally catalogued by RISM as "c.1528". Though all works in this book are presented anonymously, the composers of most of them have been determined from other sources.
