English text
O Swallow, fly not yet!
But still awhile among us stay!
The season surely you forgot,
For summer has not passed away!
The trees are green, the flowers are fair,
And scent pervales the balmy air,
The fields are clothed in golden rays,
That only fall in summer days!
O Swallow, fly not yet!
For winter time is still afar!
The sky is all in azure set,
And softly beams the evening star!
When chilly winds of autumn blow,
And leaves are on the earth laid low,
O then it will be time, be time to fly
To lands where flowerets never die.
