Italian.png Italian text

Occhi sereni, angeliche parole,
riso pien di dolcezza,
real sembiante, natural bellezza,
grazia scesa dal ciel, raro intelletto,
cor non finto, pensieri alti ed onesti:
quant'ornat'al mio sol e 'l viso e 'l petto,
e quanto siete presti
a dar mille martiri,
e trar dell'alme altrui mille sospiri!

English.png English translation

Bright eyes, angelic words,
laughter full of sweetness,
regal appearance, natural beauty,
grace descended from heaven, rare intellect,
a heart without deceit, noble and honest thoughts:
so much adorned is my only sun, both in face and breast,
and much are you ready
to give a thousand torments,
and to draw from other souls a thousand sighs!
