Twilight is falling, I’ll hasten with thee,
O’er the blue waters now sparkling with foam,
Evermore, dearest, to dwell in thy home.

Daily and nightly I’ll wander with thee,
On its clear bosom contented we’ll roam;

Brave is the heart of the fisherman’s bride,
Tho’ the wind fretteth the wave in its pride;
What tho’ the storm that encompassed the sea,
Clasping her treasure, oh, what careth she?

How the bark dashes from mountain to vale,
Tossed like a feather, the sport of the gale;
Now it is riven, together they go,
To the still depths of the caverns below.
