Biography

Samuel Orlando Álvarez Marulanda was born on September 5, 2001, in Barcelona, ​​Venezuela.

He began his musical studies at a young age at the "Don Ángel Móttola" School of Music, where his teachers César Gómez and María Fuentes were particularly noteworthy. At the age of 13, he entered the "Simón Bolívar" Conservatory, where his teachers included Yolanda Carrillo, Víctor Rojas, Katherine Rivas, and Jesús Pérez Perazzo. In 2016, he joined the Latin American Composition Program, where he began his composition studies with David Pedroza. In 2017, he received an Honorable Mention for his orchestral work "Geometría" at the Municipal Music Prize, organized by the Libertador Bolivarian Municipality Council in Caracas. In 2018, he emigrated to Argentina, where he is currently completing two Bachelor's degrees, one in flute and the other in composition, at the National University of the Arts.
