Indonesian text Serumpun padi tumbuh di sawah, hijau menguning daunnya. Tumbuh di sawah penuh berlumpur, Dipangkuan Ibu Pertiwi. Serumpun jiwa suci, hidupnya nista abadi.

English translation A sheaf of rice grow[s] in the paddy; Its green leaves [will ripen to] gold. Growing in the paddy full of mud, [it has been cradled] in Mother Nature's lap. [When] the souls of the holy [have been] gathered their lifetimes are [the merest] speck on their imperishable [existence].
