Where was this version of Machet die Tore weit first published? I am looking for information about why there is this version and also a "long version" of this piece on CPDL. Are both versions truly by Hammerschmidt or was one version edited from the original by someone else, such as Dahlke? This "first print" only contains the original larger version of Andreas Hammerschmidt. This shorter version is, as far as any available informations show, done somewhere later of an unknown person - it is not originally by Andreas Hammerschmidt.
