According to my musicologist friend, there are two options here. If it is Claude Mell, it is an alternate name for Claudio Goudimel, a French composer from c.1514-1572. Or, if it is Rinaldo del Mel (also Melle) (also Raynaldus, Renatus, Rene, or Renerus), he is Flemish, c. 1554-c.1598. Both men wrote sacred motets. She think Rinaldo del Mel is more likely. | |
