French text Old French Voiant souffrir celle qui me tourmente iay oublie mon mal pour consoler le sien car son ennui plus fort me contente que celuy la que pour elle soustien Modern French Voyant souffrir celle qui me tourmente, j'ai oublié mon mal pour consoler le sien. Car son ennui me contente plus fort que celui que je tiens à cause d'elle.

English translation Seeing her suffer who torments me, I put aside my suffering to console hers. For I revel in her misery much more that in my own, which she caused.
