qui pervia coeli porta manens,
& stella maris,
succurre cadenti
surgere qui curas populum.

Virgo peperit te,
natura mirante,
Deum sanctum genitorem,
virgo prius sic posterius,
Gabrielis ab ore
sumens illud ave,
peccatorum miserere.

Erhabener Sohn des Vaters, Jesus,
der du die immer offene Pforte des Himmels bleibst
und der Stern des Meeres,
hilf dem Gefallenen sich zu erheben,
du der sich um sein Volk kümmert.

Eine Jungfrau gebar dich,
zum Staunen der Natur,
den heiligen Schöpfergott,
eine Jungfrau vorher so wie nachher,
die aus Gabriels Mund
jenes „Ave“ angenommen hat,
erbarme dich der Sünder.

A virgin bore you,
to the amazement of nature,
the holy creator god,
