Ne reminiscaris Domine

General information

In the Liber Usualis, the antiphon Ne reminiscaris Domine is associated with the 7 Penitential Psalms and with the Saturday of the 3rd week of September. It appeared in Cranmer's translation in the 1544 Exhortation and Litany as "Remember not Lord our offenses"' and was carried over into the Book of Common Prayer. The second part, Parce Domine, has many additional separate settings.

Ne reminiscaris Domine delicta nostra,
vel parentum nostrorum:
neque vindictam sumas de peccatis nostris.

Parce, Domine, populo tuo
quem redemisti praetiosissimo sanguine tuo,
ne irascaris nobis in aeternum.

Remember not, Lord, our offences,
nor the offences of our forefathers;
neither take thou vengeance of our sins:

spare us, good Lord, spare thy people,
whom thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood,
and be not angry with us for ever.

neither those of our parents,
and take not revenge of our sins;
