Submitting new works to CPDL

Hi Peter. If you want to submit new works or editions to CPDL, please fill out and submit the add works form. Simply adding links to your works on text pages, such as A solis ortus cardine, isn't the right way to do it. Feel free to send me an email (address on my user page) if you have any problems with the add works form. Regards --Bobnotts talk 20:38, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Cleanup notice you removed

Hi, Peter--

I've restored and tried to clarify what Chuck meant by his earlier Cleanup note that you removed on the Peter Gerloff page. Please fill out an add works form for each work separately as previously instructed so the required score description page on CPDL can be created for each work. Please do not remove the Cleanup notice that CPDL admins have placed on this page; the notice is necessary and indicates that the page needs further modification to be properly catalogued on CPDL. If you have questions, you can e-mail addscore At sign.png cpdl.org. -- Vaarky 06:52, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Please create submit add works forms for your editions

 Help

Hello Peter Gerloff. It has been more than two years since Bobnotts posted a message here on your talk page concerning your posting links to new works or editions on your Peter Gerloff composer page but not formally submitting them to CPDL by filling out the requisite Add Music forms for each work. He offered to help you if you have problems with the add works forms. Since then, you have continued to post more links, and you have removed a Cleanup notice that I first posted nearly 20 months ago, which was restored restored by Carlos, then removed again by you, and finally a new Cleanup notice was posted by Vaarky. Three months ago, your composer categorization was changed to Composers (unhosted) because there are still no works pages for your works ... only composers who have their works properly submitted to CPDL are categorized in Composers. And today, I see you have posted yet another link to a textation.

We would very much like to have your works properly posted here at CPDL, but you seem to persist in ignoring our requests to submit add works forms for them so that they might be properly posted and listed in our online Score catalog. Would you please see to this matter ... or, at very least, would you contact me or one of the other Administrators about what you would like to do or to ask for help. This matter has dragged on far too long, and it is not the policy of CPDL to provide "vanity" composer pages for a composers simply to post external links their works at a different site. Without proper submission of your editions (together with the appropriate copyright license filled out in the submission forms), we cannot continue to allow this sort of providing free links to your editions.

 Help

It is now more than 5 months since I posted the above message. Since then, a different user has reported that your links forPraise My Soul (John Goss) are broken. And, sadly, in the intervening time since my last request, you have not set about submitting AddWorks forms for the works listed on you (unhosted) composer page, not have you contacted me or any of the other Administrators about setting this matter straight.

Your continued inaction on this matter is rapidly leading to a situation where an administrative decision will have to taken whether to allow these formally unsubmitted (links to) works to continue or to remove them. I do hope you will help both yourself and CPDL to resolve this matter immediately. Cordially, Chuck Giffen (President of CPDL)

Whenever I look for musics on cpdl.org, I find external links that do not even lead directly to the requested piece but to private user pages with collections of titles etc. I don't understand why there's no problem in those cases whereas my page seems to be intolerable. But okay, do with it what you want. --Peter Gerloff 14:34, 26 May 2011 (CDT)

Dear Peter. Thanks for your reply. Could you cite specific instances of the problem you cite? While it is true that some works at CPDL are hosted on external sites (and the relevant links take a user to private pages not hosted on CPDL), these works are still required to be submitted formally to CPDL through the AddWorks form and posted with a CPDL edition number, copyright information, and so forth, on Works pages (such as Andreas Christi famulus (Thomas Crecquillon), which was properly submitted in 2009, even though the actual score is hosted externally). It is not the policy of CPDL to allow a user simply to create a page for their own use and merely to list works on that page with off-site links to scores and sound files. If you (or anyone reading this) knows of other pages, please let us know. Best wishes, and thanks again for your speedy reply. – Chucktalk Giffen 23:24, 26 May 2011 (CDT)
