The Fifth Sunday after Easter is somewhat confusingly known as Domenica IV. post Pascha, that is, counting after the 8 day Octave of Easter. It is also called Cantate, after the introit.

In the three-year Lectionaries the Gospel of John 16:5-14 ("I go to the Father") is replaced by John 14:1-12 (the way, the truth and the life, Year A), John 15:1-8 (the true vine, Year B), and John 13:31-35 ("A new commandment", Year C).

Proper Liber usualis Graduale Romanum (1974)
