Born in Praha, there he became 1839 director of music at the dome. He was estimated as most talented, but he used to have a most expensived style of live. For this he shall have sold a Stradivari, wich was owned by the dome. 1843 he was dimissed and then was on several locations, but never for long. So he had to live from his church music compositions, and those were most beloved, no other composer was as spread amoungst at least the choirs in South Germany and Austria. His style varies from a Mozart like up to a early Caecilian. His works are often for rural choirs, that means not too demanding. But also larger and more difficult works are to be found. Although he works not always too careful, he surely was a talented and experienced composer with a sense for melodic lines.
