Biography
Thomas Hilton-Turvey was born in Birkenhead, England, the son of the organist at Worlsop Abbey. He was educated at Great Crosby, Merseyside, England; in Toronto, Canada; and at the University of Pennsylvania. He was known as a violinist and a vocal teacher in Philadelphia. In addition to traditional vocal training, he also taught tone production for speech in the deaf and dumb. He died in Philadelphia. His compositions are songs and small choral pieces.
